Jubilee "Songs of Praise" 20th May 2012
Many former members and choir members joined us for a special Jubilee “Songs of Praise” on Sunday 20th May 2012 to celebrate Jerry Morris’ 50 years of service as choirmaster at our church.
Jerry and his wife, Pat, chose the hymns, with one selected by Sylvia – another founder member of the choir Jerry reformed in 1962. An augmented choir opened the service with Parry’s “I was Glad” and concluded the worship with Vaughan William’s arrangement of the “Old 100th”.
After the service, during which Ron Kenyon gave a tribute to Jerry and a presentation was made, there was a very enjoyable congregational lunch.
An article about Jerry’s achievement which appeared in the Nottingham Evening Post on Tuesday 15th May may be read by following THIS LINK.
