The exhibition ‘Lace in the City of Lace’ which was held in the church as a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Nottingham Bobbin Lace Society attracted more than a 1000 visitors to our church. Each one enjoying the amazing display of the different types of bobbin and needle lace, there were over 300 pieces of lace.   The exhibits of antique machine lace panels included the facsimile of the ‘Battle of Britain’ panel, as the original is becoming very fragile this has been made so it can be seen for many generations to come, and sample books of lace from the archives. There were lace dresses including Dorothy’s Witchcraft lace wedding dress.

So many visitors had travelled from all parts of the country in fact visitors to Nottingham from all over the world coming to see the exhibition all remarking about the beautiful exhibits and lovely friendly atmosphere the church had. Thank you to Lorna R and everyone whose hard work made this exhibition possible.
