Nottingham Light Night 2024

Nottingham Light Night 2024

Our church was an Entertainment Hub for Nottingham’s Light Night on 2nd February 2024.

During the evening there was a wide range of musical and other entertainment with family meals and refreshments available. Music sessions included ukulele Come and Strum and Disney Musical sing-a-longs, performances by choirs (Djanogly Primary School Choir, the Church Choir and Phoenix Signing Choir), bands (Ravenshead Swing Band, Retro band “Gravity” and a Beatles tribute band), the Nottingham University Dance Society and over a dozen other groups, trios, duos and solists. In addition there were displays about some of our church activities and significant people connected with our church in the past, activities for children, a chance to contribute to an embroidery and to add a prayer, wish or promise to our prayer tree.

The event was very well-supported throughout the evening, with the many visitors providing good audiences for each of our entertainment groups.

Thank you to all the performers and to everyone who helped to prepare and serve the wonderful refreshments – cakes, teas, coffees and meals throughout the evening. And none of this would be possible without our Light Night Coordinator, Jill, everyone who worked so hard to prepare for the evening and all our hard-working stewards ensuring visitors’ safety and helping them find their way around our five entertainment and refreshment areas.
