Light Night 2023

Light Night 2023

Thank you…

  • to everyone who supported us by attending to enjoy our performances, events and activities on Light Night 2023
  • to our organiser, Jill G and the many members of her team, without whom, we could not offer to provide such a fantastic range of opportunities for the public
  • to the musicians, performers and organisers of the craft and children’s activities
  • to the cooks, cake-bakers, hosts and waiters who made and served our family-friendly meals and refreshments
  • to the stewards, inside and out, who cared for and guided our visitors
  • to all those who gave time to help setting up and packing away
It was an amazing evening. Here are some photographs:

Jubilee Bowl

Jubilee Bowl

We were delighted that Jill G was successful in her application to the Arts Council’s Let’s Create fund.

The award paid for four craft sessions with Sophie Robins, an established mosaic artist in Nottingham, two for adults and two for children and young people. She helped those participating to create mosaic stepping-stones and these were displayed in church on the occasion of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee when we also received our Jubilee Bowl which was commissioned from Sophie with the remainder of the grant.

Comfort blanket

Comfort blanket

Members of our Church Craft Club contributed knited squares to a Comfort Blanket created for a Nottingham Trent University project raising awareness of and support for people struggling with mental health in the wake of lockdown.
